About ludo.earth

ludo.earth (Latin ludo — I play) shows every playground on Earth that is recorded in OpenStreetMap: 1,006,246 at the moment, in 225 countries, with 266,433 pieces of equipment assigned to them.

The idea is simple: parents want to know before they leave whether a playground is fenced, whether there is shade, a toilet, water to play with, and whether it suits a two-year-old or a ten-year-old. All of that is in OpenStreetMap — scattered over many objects. We collect it, join it by location and show it on one map.

What the data can and cannot tell

“Unknown” is the most common value for fence, shade and accessibility — because nobody has mapped it yet, not because it is missing. Where we derive something (shade from trees, age from equipment) we say so. Data as of 2026-09-07.

Family

ludo.earth is one of three free world maps by schimanski IT, Wobbenbüll: lido.earth — every swim spot on Earth, and fiesta.earth — every festival on Earth.
